SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER – SAN JOSE, CA

 

Responsibilities in this role:

  • Work with VP of Engineering to develop and execute project plans
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to resolve technical challenges
  • Lead customer/contractor meetings and resolve customer and management project issues
  • Manage junior engineers and coordinate with contractors to complete projects on time and within required budget guidelines
  • QC responsibility and follow up for all project deliverables through project closure
  • Perform HVAC system walk-throughs with subcontractors
  • Write technical reports
  • Work with the VP of Engineering to develop project proposals
  • Develop preliminary project budgets
  • Develop engineering solutions and provide technical analysis on all projects
  • Perform commissioning and optimization of HVAC systems
  • Adjust the operational settings of HVAC systems and modify or implement control sqqurences through building automation systems
  • Diagnose and trouble-shoot HVAC components
  • Travel 25-40% spending up to one week on project sites

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or above degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical or building automation control related)
  • PE/EIT registration is highly desirable
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in HVAC, building automation control or related field/work, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a lead engineer or project engineer/manager
  • Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) required
  • Hands-on experience with at least one building automation system (Tridium, Siemens, JCI, Honeywell, ALC, Trane, TAC, etc.)
  • Experience in building energy modeling, simulation and data analysis a plus
  • Exemplify customer service excellence

 

Direct Experience in:

  • HVAC system design and operation
  • Building commissioning and energy auditing
  • Mechanical/electrical installation and construction management
  • Operation of chillers, boilers, chilled and hot water distribution systems, air-handling units, VAV terminal boxes and other HVAC related equipment
  • Instrumentation and control systems
  • Supervision of staff engineers

US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency Permit Holder Required (Applications without this requirement will not be considered)

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or building automation control related)
  • PE/EIT registration is highly desirable
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience required in HVAC, building automation system or related field/work, with a preferred minimum of 2 years experience as a lead engineer or project engineer/manager
