Flow Meters & Controllers

Flow Meters and Controllers

Digi Fan Flow Meter

The Digi Fan Flow Meter is a “virtual” measurement device that calculates for the fan airflow and fan efficiency. The flow meter can be applied to any fan system for monitoring and control purposes. It is unique in that it does not require a straight duct section and airflow straightener. This feature makes the Digi Fan Flow Meter more accurate and reliable compared to other airflow meters currently available on the market. The Digi Fan Flow Meter does not require re-calibration and it supports digital communication, displays fan efficiency information in real-time, and is easily integrated into existing BMS systems.

Digi Pump Flow Meter

The Digi Pump Flow Meter is a “virtual” measurement device that calculates for the pump flow and pump efficiency. It can be applied to any pump system for monitoring and control purposes. The Digi Pump Flow Meter makes accurate, reliable, and wide-ranging water flow measurements and does not require re-calibration. Notably, unlike other flow meters (such as an ultrasonic flow meter), measurements can be made without the need for a straight pipe section. The flow meter also supports digital communication, displays pump efficiency information in real-time, and is easily integrated into existing BMS systems.

Digi Fan Controller

Digi-Fan ControllerThe Digi Fan Controller is an optimal control device intended for use with the supply fan of a variable air volume (VAV) system. The Digi Fan Controller measures the system load in real-time and dynamically resets the system static pressure based on actual load conditions. Case studies reveal that a 30%-40% fan energy savings and 10%-20% reheat energy savings can be achieved  through its continued use. The Digi Fan Controller also supports multiple open communication protocols (including Modbus and BACnet) and is seamlessly integrated into existing control systems.

Digi Pump Controller

Digi-Pump ControllerThe Digi Pump Controller is an optimal control device for pumps in variable water flow systems. The controller measures the system load in real-time and dynamically resets the system loop pressure based on actual load conditions. When implemented in applications with multiple parallel pumps, the Digi Pump Controller optimizes pump staging to ensure the highest system efficiency at all times. Case studies have shown that the Digi  Pump Controller typically achieves pump energy savings in the range of 30%-40%. The Digi Pump Controller supports multiple open communication protocols (including Modbus and BACnet) and is seamlessly integrated into existing control systems.

Digi Air Controller

Digi-Air ControllerThe Digi Air Controller dynamically optimizes the outdoor air intake and zone airflow in a VAV system based on the zone occupancy status and supply air freshness. Notably, only two CO2 sensors and the zone design information is needed for the Digi Air to save significant fan power, heating, and cooling energy. The controller also minimizes zone level simultaneous heating and cooling energy consumption. The controller supports multiple open communication protocols (such as Modbus and BACnet) and is seamlessly integrated into existing control systems.

Energy Management Control System

Energy Management Control System (EMCS)

The novel features of Bes-Tech’s Energy Management and Control System (EMCS) have helped to establish it as the most energy efficient in the industry.

Energy Management Control System (EMCS)

Key Defining Features:

  1. All-digital system (reducing installation costs by 30%)
  2. Energy efficient built-in smart control algorithms
  3. Integrated novel sensing and measurement technologies
  4. Simple product design for easy installation and operation

Bes-Tech’s EMCS system uses digital signals that not only reduce initial and operating costs but help to ensure system reliability. Built into the EMCS system are our unique custom control algorithms, perfected over 20 years of research and development to ensure the energy efficiency of each system type. Our airflow and air property sensors are innovative and utilize our patent-pending technologies to ensure accurate airflow and air property measurements. Although our EMCS system can successfully perform complex tasks, at Bes-Tech our design philosophy continues to be based on the notion of simplicity. Our hardware and software systems are no exception to this rule, helping to create a system that is easy to design, install, and operate.

Digi SFT

Bes-Tech’s Digi-SFT is the software platform that clients use to communicate with the EMCS system. Using Digi-SFT, users can create and configure the control objects (such as the PMC2 controllers, AI/AO signals, and DI/DO signals). Alarms can be defined, triggered, and acknowledged to notify users of undesirable events or conditions within the EMCS system. Custom algorithms can be written in the distributed control language for control automation in specific field applications and then compiled, saved, and downloaded to a computer or controller. A scheduling feature is also provided to schedule periods in which the building is unoccupied or when equipment is down.

The Digi-SFT software program lets users manage their building systems to ensure occupant comfort and the operation of more reliable, energy efficient facilities. The graphics of the Digi- SFT software interface make it easy for users to monitor and control their building systems. Users can save the metering and performance information for review at a later date and view the operational data in real-time or on a trend plot. The Digi-SFT software package includes an extensive template, symbol, and control library, thus simplifying the task of graphic creation. It also comes equipped with complete system access control security features.
